Calling All Prospective Writers (and Content Creators)!

Anime coverage is a crazy job

It’s always a fun time concocting these posts, and the latest one isn’t any exception. We – well, me! – have been dragging our heels since forever, and as usual staying hip and with the times waits for no one. Random Curiosity is one again in need of new recruits, and much like before you best believe we have an opportunity for everyone!

Spring 2025 Preview

It’s that lovely time of year when the scent of plum blossoms fades into the bloom of Sakura and Hanami are held all over Japan. Flowers are not the only viewing highlight, with the spring anime season also kicking off. Usually for anime, this is a full bloom season with a myriad of promising shows on the schedule. And this spring has many series worth getting excited for.

For one, we have quite a few series that could make quite the bang, based on the reputation of the creators. Fans of Watanabe Shinichiro will want to check out his sci fi thriller Lazarus and Detective Conan’s creator is in the spotlight with his time tripping, sword-wielding hero in Shin Samurai-den YAIBA. By far the biggest splash is sure to be made by the Boku no Hero Academia spinoff series, Shin Samurai-den YAIBAVigilante -Boku no Hero Academia ILLEGALS. Gundam fans are in hype mode with the latest addition to the universe in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux (if only we could figure out how to pronounce such a hodgepodge of letters). We also have a couple of much anticipated sequels in Kuroshitsuji -Midori no Majo-hen-, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, and Enn Enn no Shouboutai San no Shou which should fill up some of that remaining empty space this season.

And with that, let’s take a closer look at the garden in bloom that is anime’s latest spring season. This is Random Curiosity’s Spring 2025 Preview!

Best of Anime 2024

With 2024 officially over (and me running incredibly late – life sucks at times!), now comes the moment that many of you have been waiting for. It’s time for Random Curiosity’s annual foray into annoying everyone with our questionable opinions, the Best of Anime 2024 post! Unlike previous years this was a solo effort so apologies in advance if some (read: much) bias winds up showing through. I didn’t quite manage to catch everything, but made sure to watch entries that made a serious clamour within the anime community. Please feel free to be brutally honest while giving constructive feedback. And if something was picked you disagree with don’t hesitate to voice your opinion – best of posts are always subjective!

Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu! – Episode 09 Review

Ugh, don’t get the wrong idea, okay?! It’s not like I enjoy watching a wannabe evil lord fumble his way through intergalactic politics, awkward harem-building, and emotionally constipated AI waifus or anything! I’m just here to document the chaos, so people understand how absurdly entertaining this show is—between the shameless fanservice, unintentional wholesomeness, and the slow-burning descent of every character into emotional wreckage. That’s all! So quit staring and read the review already! B-baka…

Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu! – 01/02/03/04/05 Review

TL;DR: Evil never looked this misunderstood.

This anime is what happens when a bitter, broken man dies and comes back swinging with the ambition to become the greatest tyrant in the galaxy, only to be tragically misread as a noble messiah. Honestly? Based.

Introduction – I know what you’re thinking. Hmph.

Greetings, mongrels. The name is Weiss Rue, and you will address me as such—no abbreviations, no nicknames. Got it? I’m the newest (and clearly best-dressed) addition to the dominatrix writing corps here at Random Curiosity. Behave yourselves, or I will whip you into shape—literally if necessary. Don’t test me. Hmph.

Due to a rather chaotic storm of “random” and “curious” circumstances, I’ve begun using this moniker across the net. My anime background? Trying to explain it would be like teaching a toddler calculus—futile and headache-inducing. So instead, here’s a little peek into the chaotic curiosity that is my soul. If any of this resonates with you, congratulations—we may both be doomed, but at least we’re doomed together.
